With the launch of the first Vodka produced by Albany-based Vivacity Spirits, Oregon can boast the first woman owned craft distillery in the Willamette Valley and on good authority. Not since the days of bobbed hair and bathtub gin have women played a role in the production of distilled spirits.
Vivacity Spirits is owned and operated by Caitlin Prueitt and her partner and spouse, Chris Neumann.
Caitlin brings not only her passion for distilling, but extensive knowledge in the fermentation sciences with a degree from OSU and deep experience working in wineries, breweries, and lab settings. Operating a craft, microdistillery, her plans are to provide an expanded flavor experience with new and interesting tastes, crafted with locally sourced products.
Chris is a master craftsman with a background in all things construction and wood crafted. He takes great pride in the detail oriented aspects of his craft, and has always enjoyed fine spirits.
In founding Vivacity Spirits, Caitlin and Chris joined their skills and passions, past and present, to create a distilled spirit worth showing off and sharing. Bankers’ Gin is a well-crafted and traditional gin flavor with a nice citrus pop. It is ideal for familiar gin cocktails or enjoying that classic gin flavor on the rocks. Bankers’ dry gin creates interest in the old fashioned way. We earn it. Made with a Corn base and by handcrafting our effusion of herbs. Then we bond a cachet of botanicals, invest them with aroma, and endow them with a crisp citrusy flavor we call Bankers’ gin by Vivacity. Native Gin is redolent in fragrance and flavor due to the array of botanicals we lovingly combine in this spirit. With seventeen (yes, 17!) herbs and spices, most of which are native to the PNW and two we even hand pick. This is a true reflection of the Oregonian love of our surroundings. Following European traditions, this single-vineyard, barrel-aged brandy originates as Treos Winery pinot noir. They recently moved to Albany, Oregon, and acquired a well-known and established brewery in the area. They are now Albany's second Brew-Stillery. Construction is still being done on their new Vivacity Spirits tasting room and distillery, but their Brewpub Calapooia Brewing Co. is in full swing!
